PIERCING PAPHOS

We offer professional piercing in a clean, licensed, and controlled studio environment. All piercings are carried out by trained professionals using sterile, single use equipment, with safety and hygiene as the priority. Our studio is officially licensed under Cyprus law and operates in compliance with Ministry of Health regulations.

Piercing Process

We use sterile surgical grade steel equipment and single-use/pre-wrapped medical grade ‘cannula’ specialized needles. Surgical pure titanium jewelry is the only material we use. It is hypoallergenic, never mixed with other metals and the absolute best material for this purpose.

Needles vs Piercing Guns

At our premises, we never use piercing guns as they result in a crush injury rather than a piercing. In medical practice, the term for this type of injury is “blunt force trauma”. Furthermore, guns cannot be sterilized. Therefore, they may result in infections and health issues. We recently spoke to Her Campus magazine regarding this subject. Check it out for analytical information on needles vs guns.

Preparation

This practice has a rich history, literally thousands of years. It is reversible too. If you don’t like it, you can always remove it. Above all, it is very important not to stress and stand confident before walking through the door. You are in safe hands. It only takes a few moments! There are certain things you can do to prepare your body for the procedure. We recommend reading our piercing preparation guide before your visit.

FAQ

Is body piercing safe at Gorilla Tattoo Paphos?

Yes. We use sterile surgical grade needles and high quality titanium jewellery. Our studio is fully certified, meets strict hygiene standards and we never use piercing guns, which cannot be sterilised and can increase risk of infection.

Do you use needles or piercing guns?

We use only sterile single-use needles. Piercing guns cannot be properly sterilised, and medical professionals warn they can cause blunt force injury rather than a clean piercing.

How long does a piercing take to heal?

Healing times vary by type: earlobe piercings often heal in 6–8 weeks, while cartilage and body piercings can take several months or more. Follow aftercare closely for the best outcome.

What jewellery materials do you use?

We use implant-grade titanium jewellery, which is hypoallergenic, never mixed with other metals, and ideal for long-term comfort and safety.

Can I remove my piercing myself?

It’s best to leave jewellery in place until fully healed to avoid irritation or closure. If you’re unsure about timing or technique, ask your piercer for advice.

Do I need to avoid any activities after getting pierced?

Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, or soaking in water while healing; keep pressure and friction off the area and follow our aftercare instructions for best results.
